Critical — Boxster vs Cayman: The Boxster and Cayman share the same mid-engine platform but are completely different cover specifications. The Boxster’s power-retractable soft top, when closed, creates a lower and more steeply sloped rear roofline than the Cayman’s fixed hardtop. The Boxster’s rear deck, which houses the folded soft top mechanism between the cockpit and engine lid, has a different contour from the Cayman’s higher hardtop C-pillar.
